Yesterday, our entire 9th-grade class took part in SBHS’s school-wide National History Day competition, and we couldn’t be more proud! Students put incredible effort into their projects—creating websites, documentaries, exhibits, performances, and research papers—all exploring this year’s theme: Rights & Responsibilities.
They presented their work to a panel of judges, including outside guests and former students who have competed at the national level. A huge thank you to all of our volunteer judges for sharing your time and expertise, and an extra shoutout to our amazing 9th-grade History teachers for guiding students through this process!
Up next? Students can refine their projects and register for the state-wide competition on April 5th at Saint Michael’s!
If you haven’t heard about your student’s History Day project yet, ask them about it—we promise, it’s worth the conversation!

After 18 incredible days abroad, 23 intrepid SB Wolves returned home from Salamanca, Spain on Saturday, March 8th! This was more than just a trip—it was a true exchange. Our students spent two weeks living with Spanish families they had hosted back in September, forging lasting friendships and embracing full language immersion.
While in Salamanca, they explored the city, attended classes at Colegio Montessori, and even presented (IN SPANISH!) about Vermont & American culture. After representing themselves, their families, and SBHS with pride, they capped off their journey with visits to Toledo and Madrid, experiencing the rich history and vibrant culture of Spain.
¡Bravo lobos! 🐺🇪🇸 ¡Que viva el intercambio de TIE!

Mr. Burke here with an important message about the upcoming school budget vote on March 4th.
Early voting is open now through March 3rd at City Hall. Information about the proposed budget can be found on the SBSD website.
This year, due to a state-level change, the School Article on the ballot is worded differently. It’s important to note that the increase in per-pupil education spending is not the same as the tax level increase in the proposed budget.
We’ve linked a sample ballot in the bio—be sure to check it out before you vote!
