A student's return to school following a concussion is an individualized process that requires good communication and collaboration among parents, the school, and healthcare providers.

If a student is diagnosed with a concussion, a doctor's note or diagnosis from the Athletic Trainer is required.

What to do following a concussion:

Stay home until 24 hours symptom-free or symptoms have significantly improved.
Check in with the school nurse upon return to school.

The school nurse will communicate with teachers and follow the Return to Learn plan to guide the student's transition back to school.
