Office Hours begin at 8:15, Advisory is for 9th and 10th graders, and Block 4 will begin immediately following the pep rally at 2:20.

Students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of careers, including heavy equipment operation, public safety, ski area management, aviation, health sciences, and much more. They also connected with representatives from educational programs and training pathways that can help them turn those interests into future careers.
It was especially great to see our entire sophomore class, along with other SBHS students, asking thoughtful questions, engaging with professionals, and jumping into hands-on activities. As always, they were outstanding ambassadors for SBHS.

Students got an inside look at BETA’s innovative work in electric aviation and learned about the wide range of career pathways that make this work possible, from engineering and advanced manufacturing to technology, business, and more.
One of the highlights was meeting some SBHS alumni who now work at BETA. And, of course, they all wanted to know about Mr. Marabella!
A great opportunity for our students to see some of the exciting work happening right here in our community and imagine where their own paths might take them.

A few important reminders for students and families:
School begins at 10:35 AM with Block 1.
All morning bus routes will run 2 hours later than their regularly scheduled pickup times.
There is no Advisory, and students will follow the Late Start Wednesday schedule pictured above.
Our faculty and staff will spend the morning engaged in professional development before welcoming students at 10:35.
See you tomorrow!

We’re looking forward to welcoming families into the building for an evening at SBHS.
6:00 PM — Meet Principal McDonald and learn more about SBHS and Title I
6:45–8:45 PM — Meet your student’s advisor and teachers and follow their daily schedule
A printable copy of the Open House schedule is available through the link in our bio. Use the PowerSchool Parent Portal or work with your student ahead of time to fill in teacher names and room locations.
We’ll also have schedules available in the lobby. If you need to pick one up, please plan to arrive between 6:15 and 6:45. Lines can get long, and we don’t want you to be late to class!
We’re excited to see our SBHS families on Thursday night.

Our annual Student Activities Fair gave students a chance to explore the many clubs, organizations, and activities available at SBHS. From robotics and mountain biking to the arts, student leadership, affinity groups, service opportunities, and much more, there are so many ways for students to find their people, try something new, and get involved in our school community.
A huge thank you to all of the students and advisors who shared their clubs and helped make the fair happen.
SBHS students: What club or activity are you most excited about this year? Drop a comment below!
A beautiful morning at Munson Field with friends and a pretty great Vermont sunrise.

Our students and host families gathered at SBHS over the weekend to welcome their Spanish partners and kick off what promises to be a memorable few weeks together. The students will live with SBHS families, attend classes alongside their hosts, and experience life here in Vermont. That immersive experience is at the heart of TIE, with students becoming part of one another’s families, schools, and communities.
This visit is especially meaningful as we celebrate 20 years of the exchange between South Burlington High School and Colegio Montessori, a partnership that began in 2006.
We’re excited for the adventures, friendships, and memories ahead, and even more excited that our SBHS students will get to return the experience when they travel to Salamanca later this school year.

Saturday, October 3 at our NEW LOCATION: Frederick H. Tuttle Middle School.
Get ready for winter with new and used alpine and cross-country skis, snowboards, boots, bindings, helmets, outerwear, gloves, and more for the whole family.
Mark your calendars, support the SBHS Boosters, and get geared up for another Vermont winter!

The construction work in the parking lot between the high school and middle school is now complete. Thank you to our students, families, staff, and community for your patience and flexibility as we navigated this project.
While we have more parking available, riding the bus, carpooling, walking, and biking to school are still encouraged whenever possible!
Staff and faculty should continue to park across the road at 577 Dorset or behind the high school. As you can see in the photo, work is still underway on the North Lot behind the middle school. We’re hoping that project will be completed within the next two weeks.
Once the North Lot is finished, we’ll begin having conversations with 10th grade students about parking on campus.
Thanks again for your patience and flexibility!

Today marked our first ride of the season, and it was great to see students out on the trails, getting some miles in and enjoying one of the best parts of being a Wolf.
Here’s to a great season on two wheels!

Student photos will be taken Tuesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 2. Students should check the schedule to see when their class is scheduled for photos.
All students, including seniors, must have their photo taken, even if they do not plan to purchase a picture package. Photos are used for student IDs and library cards.
Please review the schedule below and plan accordingly.

Due to a delay in our stormwater mitigation project and the resurfacing of the North Lot, we will have minimal parking available as we begin the school year.
At this time, 10th grade students are not permitted to park on campus. 11th and 12th grade students are asked to drive to school only when necessary. Carpooling and riding the school bus are strongly encouraged. Staff and faculty should park behind the high school or at 577 Dorset.
Our hope is that both projects will be completed shortly after Labor Day, which will allow us to return to more typical parking availability. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's flexibility and patience as this work is completed.
We’re looking forward to seeing our whole SBHS community tomorrow!

SLAM stands for Student Leadership Advisory Meeting. Every 9th grade student is part of a SLAM group led by three senior student leaders and a faculty advisor. Throughout the year, SLAM helps our newest Wolves build community, make connections, develop communication and teamwork skills, and find their place in the SBHS community.
Today, our SLAM Leaders are helping students navigate their first day...from finding their advisory and classrooms to figuring out schedules, lunch, and all the other little things that make a new school feel a little more familiar.
We’re lucky to have such great student leaders welcoming the Class of 2030 to SBHS!

We’re excited to welcome our 9th grade students and all new 10th–12th grade students for their first day at SBHS.
8:00–8:45 — Arrival and check-in at the SBHS lobby
9:00–10:20 — Advisory, laptop distribution, school tour, lockers, and café information
10:20–10:30 — Review schedules and class rotations
10:35–12:30 — Blue and Gray class rotations
12:35–1:20 — Lunch
1:30 — Buses depart
We know a new school can feel like a lot. Take a breath, ask questions, and know that we’ll be here to help you find your way.
Welcome to SBHS! We’re glad you’re here.

Welcome back to SBHS, Aquilas
He/him | Learning Center Teacher
Please join us in welcoming Aquilas Lokossou (he/him) back to South Burlington High School, this time as our Learning Center Teacher.
Aquilas previously served as a school counselor at SBHS during the 2024–25 school year before spending this past year at Orchard Elementary and King Street Center. It was the community he knows and missed that brought him back to SBHS, and we’re excited to have him back with us.
Equity is at the forefront of Aquilas’ work in education. He is committed to making sure every student has the support they need to succeed and feel valued as a member of our school community.
Outside of school, Aquilas enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and playing the drums.
This year, he’s looking forward to reconnecting with our students and staff and celebrating our students at school events.
Welcome back to the Wolf Pack, Aquilas!

Miss Alex | Speech Language Pathologist
Please join us in welcoming Alex Dezenzo Kindlon (Miss Alex) to South Burlington High School! Alex joins us as an SLP in Wolf Tracks, after working in the preschool classroom at RMCS. She decided to follow Mrs. McD to the high school...and we’re so glad she did!
Alex believes in creating a community where everyone feels safe, supported, challenged, and understood. She’s excited to bring project-based learning (and a lot of glitter!) to Wolf Tracks.
A few fun facts about Alex: She played Division I women’s soccer at UVM and leads the social media team for a dog rescue nonprofit. This year, she’s especially excited to cook with students in the Wolf Tracks kitchen.
Welcome to the Wolf Pack, Alex! We’re excited to have you with us!
