During the 8th grade, students will be assessed again to determine their progress. The following situational tasks have been chosen as benchmarks for assessment at the 8th grade level: |

During the high school intermediate course in the target language (for example, French III/ Spanish III), students must demonstrate survival-level proficiency in five situational tasks. The tasks for the final assessment will be chosen at random from the 22 Situational Tasks in addition to those listed above: |
Assessment Rating: Students' proficiency will be rated as having
1) met the standard
2) not met the standard
3) exceeded the standard.
