Technology Department at
South Burlington High School

The South Burlington High School Technology Department incorporates technology education and business education courses.

Business Education courses include Computer Applications, three courses that teach students how to use the electronic productivity tools important in business and education. This includes touch typing, office productivity applications, presentation tools, electronic communications and the Internet. Other courses include Intro to Business, Business Law and Recordkeeping.

Technology Education courses provide students opportunities to investigate the built environment. Emphasis is placed on developing technical problem-solving skills and career exploration. Students participating in technology education courses will better understand the applications of technology to meet human wants and needs. They will become more familiar with the promise and limitations of technological solutions and will become better designers and consumers of modern products. Courses include Advertising, Computer Aided Drafting, Computer Hardware and Software, Computer Networking, Digital Photography, Digital Video, Electronic Arts, Fine Metals, Fundamentals of Web Design, Research & Design Lab, and Unix & Linux Operating Systems.
