The Ancient Sources
There are links to pictures of the gods and goddess from ancient art and
an especially useful section is a list of "Attributes in Iconography"
- the symbols that help identify the individual deities, e.g. Poseidon with a
trident. The "Time Line of Greek History and Literature" links to
primary source documents in the Perseus database.
Encyclopedia
Mythica
Search for mythology and folklore from many cultures. An image gallery
containing 261 images provides pictures of gods, goddesses, etc. from the
various cultures. It also contains an aid for citing the source.
Religions
of the World
The Emuseum from Minnesota State University at Mankato provides useful
information on world religions. Those included are Islam, Judaism, Buddhism,
Animism, Christianity, and Hinduism.
