Below are several links to web sites offering resources for teens, parents,
and teachers. Some are more teen centered and some a general information
for all on adolescent related issues. Adolescent Directory On Line is a service of The Center of Adolescent Studies at Indiana University. The site offers resources for teens, mental health issues, counselor resources, health issues, and links specifically for teachers. AfterSchool.gov is a multi-agency teen resource web site administered by the U.S. Govt. This site is more teen centered and offers information on college searches, safety issues, substance abuse resources, nutrition, and community service to name a few. Focus Adolescent Services is a web site offering resources on teen and family issues. This site offers information on many topics including counseling, anger management, parenting, ADD/ADHD, health, family help, schools and much more. There are lists of resources under each category.
Parenting of Adolescents is a good site for issues that parents face when adjusting to life with teenagers. It offers information and resources on a variety of topics such as: dating, stress, body image, teen success, drug and alcohol issues and more. Teen Link is also a vast resource for teens and parents including issues such as: bullying, communication, risk-taking, eating disorders, family issues, decision making, friends, gay-lesbian-bisexual issues and school issues to name a few. Tufts University Child and Family Web Guide has resources on typical developmental issues for teens, cultural identity, puberty, self-esteem, sleep, friends/peers, mental health issues and brain development among many other topics. Next STEP Magazine Offers students information and resources for life after high school including: College searches, career center, year off options, help with financial aid, Blogs and much more.
