Going
to the Dominican Republic was an awesome experience...
the work was hard, but looking back on it, being able to help
out someone who is worse off than me was extremely gratifying.

I
used to think that money was important. It was amazing to see how
happy the people were who lived in the campo. They may have been
poor by American Standards, but they were so rich in life experience.

This
was the best experience of my life. I would recommend it to anyone.
I will keep these memories with me forever. The feelings I experienced
are probably the hardest thing to describe or explain to anyone.
I thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

I
felt inspired by this experience. Being part of the DREAM Project
has furthered my desire to study medicine and to fufill my long
term goal of being able to work with other nations to improve health
care opportunities worldwide.

My
views about the world have changed. I have come to the conclusion
that the foundation of every culture is education, and during the
DREAM trip, it struck me how different our educational system is
to theirs. I am now considering becoming a teacher.

The
DREAM trip made me realize what is physical labor and hard work.
Before the trip, to me, hard work was a grueling lacrosse practice
or an endless night of homework. Now, I see that to others, hard
work is surviving day to day. I no longer want to live for the future..I
want to live for the present.

I
was appreciative of the physical labor put forth by South Burlington
students. Despite the taxing moments, our students preserved. I
am also appreciative of the Dominicans hospitality and kindness.
