FIELDS & DREAMS UPDATE: October 2009

Attention all SBHS fans! The time is now to help us complete one of the best athletic facilities in Vermont.

The South Burlington Schools' Foundation is accepting gifts of any amount to complete Phase II of the Fields & Dreams campaign. We are in the planning process to complete the concession building that was donated by South Burlington resident and SBHS parent Skip Farrell. We are working hard to complete construction during the spring 2010 sports season.

We are accepting in-kind donations for the concession building as well as volunteer labor in any of the following areas: electricians, sheetrockers, painters, roofers, etc. to help defray costs and give our students the best athletic venue in the state.

On October 8, 2009 the Rebel Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2009 was honored at the Sunset Ballroom in South Burlington. This was the second class to be inducted after the charter class in November 2007. Over 80 guests were on hand to celebrate the athletic achievements of the seven former student-athletes and two coaches.

Pictured at left are (standing L-R): Mike Donoghue '69, master of ceremonies; Betsy Flint Lamb '78; Joe Maley, SBHS teacher accepting the award for his late father don Maley (coach); Jim Smullen '76; Warren Brooks '77. Seated (L-R) are: Janet Dewar Casto '78; Lorianne Frattini '84; Yvette Amblo-Bose '87 (coach); Julie Dutra Thompson '88. Missing from the photo is Phil Schlemmer '83.

The Rebel Hall of Fame Committee is accepting nominations for the Class of 2010. Please click on the link below to download a nomination form.
